Activity Monitor
The Dorperland MTB Challenge is amazing mountain/gravel bike challenge that takes place in and around Kenhardt ” Die hart van Dorperland” South Africa. The race starts in the small town on the R27 and heads north west for about 2,5 kms where you will join the Sishen-Saldanha transnet railway service road. The railway service road is a gravel road with lots of loose sand and hard under SURFACES. Here caution is key.
After about 20 kms of gravel road you cross the railway and take on a ” plaas padtjie” through sheep farms for about 15kms. This part is very sandy and rocky at some stages.
After the ” plaas padjie” you will be on a gravel road and the Sishen-Saldanha transnet service again for the largest part on the race. You will briefly be on the R27 tar road again and then hit the most difficult part of the race.
You will pass the quiver tree forest “kokerboom woud” on a “plaas padjie” through a really Rocky passage, again through a couple of sheep farms till you reach a gravel road. From here the finish line will edge closer and this last part of the race are only gravel and tar road. The race will end at the start.
